unrivaled speed, security, and SCALABILITY Linking Asia, North America and Europe through the arctic
The Fastest, Most Secure Bridge Between Continents.
Far North Fiber (FNF) is the first subsea system linking Japan to Europe through the Northwest Passage. It will be a 14,000 kilometer high-capacity backbone for the AI era.
-
142ms Round-Trip Delay (RTD) from Tokyo to London. Our Arctic system shaves more than 50ms existing routes, creating a competitive premium.
-
A truly diversified route. Far North Fiber reduces geopolitical and operational risk by avoiding chokepoints such as the Red Sea and South China Sea, instead routing traffic through stable, sovereign waters of G7 and allied nations—enhancing long-term security, resiliency, and investment durability.
-
24 fiber pairs with a design capacity of 15 Tbps per pair, with expected technology evolution supporting 18–20 Tbps per pair by Ready-for-Service. The system is engineered to exceed current demand, and to future-proof capacity able to accommodate approximately 35-40% annual growth in global data traffic.
-
Shovel Ready and Bankable. The project is de-risked through an exclusive turnkey agreement with Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN), a completed Cable Route Study (CRS), civil works completed in Ireland, and permitting well underway, supporting a 2029 Ready-for-Service date.
-
Dual-use sensing capability. Far North Fiber is designed to integrate SMART cable technologies, enabling continuous oceanographic and seismic monitoring while simultaneously supporting commercial traffic. This capability provides governments and research institutions with critical real-time data from the rapidly changing Arctic and North Atlantic oceans, strengthening climate science, hazard detection, and national security outcomes alongside long-term infrastructure returns.

“Subsea fiber is foundational to modern financial markets. As AI-driven trading, real-time risk modeling, and global capital flows accelerate, low-latency and resilient fiber infrastructure is no longer optional—it is mission-critical.”
— Global Financial Markets Perspective
A new trans-Arctic fiber corridor redefining global connectivity between Europe and Asia.
Far North Fiber is a first-of-its-kind trans-Arctic subsea fiber system designed to reshape global connectivity between Europe and Asia. The project delivers materially lower latency, route diversity, and geopolitical resilience using proven cable technology deployed along a new northern corridor. In addition to serving hyperscalers, financial markets, and government users, Far North Fiber enables energy-efficient data infrastructure in climate-advantaged regions. The following CNBC feature highlights the strategic and commercial significance of this emerging Arctic digital corridor.
“Global digital connectivity is essential to drive future economic growth and coherence between continents. Fast and reliable internet is vital for all parts of modern society, from private use to businesses, governments, and research and education (R&E) institutions—and will be even more so going forward, as digital transformations in society require more robust, more resilient, more performant, and more digital capacity, while also having to reduce the carbon footprint.”
